About Gabi
|
Born and raised in Brighton, I've been practicing yoga since childhood and teaching yoga since 2014. I specialise in accessible and trauma informed yoga for LGBTQIA+ people with a particular interest in pregnancy and the postnatal period. I am the co-director of Gather Brighton CIC, a queer and trans led yoga and wellbeing studio by Brighton Station that centres heart and values, growing radical community through practices of care, softness, and liberation.
I'm interested pain science and the rich history and ethics of yoga, which informs all of my classes. I love to dismantle systems of power and centre consent, autonomy and equity in all my work. I want to empower you to find ways to move your beautiful, unique body that feel good and bring you joy. I teach through a fat positive and anti-racist lens. In 2023 after two miscarriages, I decided to train as a doula. I am fascinate by birth and dedicated to person-centred care throughout the perinatal journey. I work with families going through assisted reproduction, pregnancy after loss, homebirth, caesarean, and everything in-between. I also offer postnatal support including infant feeding and induced lactation, and I especially loves supporting LGBTQIA+ families. Alongside my yoga and doula work, I work in Mental Health and as an educator and consultant for organisations who want to make their work more welcoming for LGBTQIA+ people. Outside of work, I am involved in Brighton and Hove Masorti Chavurah. Between work, volunteering, and parenting, I love to cook vegan food and swim in the sea. |
